Facilities

• ETS is situated on 133 remote acres located in Taylor County, Florida.

• There are four commercial buildings on the improved land which consist of warehouse, steel container-storage buildings which have special double-hooded locking mechanisms, storage buildings and buildings used for manufacturing explosive devices.

• All manufacturing buildings are designed in accordance with all explosive operations safety guidelines to include explosive proof lighting, piped air pressure for tools, underground electric systems, and grounding devices for applicable operations.

• ETS is within short distance of several major cities including Jacksonville at 120 miles, Miami at 402 miles, Orlando at 180 miles, Tallahassee at 90 miles, and Tampa at 180 miles.

• Since 2012, ETS and its owners have invested more than $2 million in the facility and improvements to its manufacturing infrastructure, security, office and process equipment.

 ETS is a pyrotechnically based DoD prime contractor that presently maintains virtually all of the necessary infrastructure requirements to support the processing, production, packaging, inspection, and testing for a variety of Simulator Cartridges as derived from but not limited to top assembly drawings, TM 43-0001-37 and the antiquated but relevant military specification MIL-S-71146.

ETS currently has two (2) 1.1 Hazard Class capable manufacturing production buildings comprising over (7,000) square feet with an individual (300) pound maximum net explosive weight allowance for each that are fully mobilized with explosion-proof lighting, conductive flooring, static grounding, two (2) interconnected blow-out bays for high hazard operations. Building infrastructure in these mobilized areas include a 125 SCFM compressed air with a 2” diameter closed loop piping network, 400-amp explosion-proof electrical service, explosion- proof exhaust ventilated assembly booths, explosion-proof climatic controls, satellite inert and energetic walk-in conditioning ovens, adjacent finished goods storage magazine. The base ETS production site and satellite support structures are DoD 5100.76M-2012 Category IV qualified and DoD 4145-26M-2008 site plan qualified for 1.1 – 1.4 hazard classification activities.

Pull Cord Tension Tester

• The pull cord assembly is a vital part in the simulator technical data package. ETS fabricates the pull cord assembly in-house and has developed an eyelet crimping tool that consistently crimps the eyelet around the pull cord.

• To assure that drift of this operation is controlled, ETS fabricated a reliable tension tester that consistently clamps the pull cord assembly, minimizing bias based on geometry.

• The result is reliable and repeatable evaluation of the eyelet crimp.

Explosive Powder Loading

• ETS has designed an explosive loading machine for the simulator program that shields the operator from the explosive loading operation.

• To assure reliable loading of composition, the machine is designed to load volumetrically utilizing a spoon that dips into a mix reservoir, then leveled to assure a consistent volume each and every time. The reservoir is replenished based on count which prevents the fabrication of an under charge or no charge simulator. The rotary table is fixed with lasers that check for the presence of explosive mix in each simulator. Each simulator is then 100% visually inspected for presence of mix for a 200% total inspection.
